My team and I arrived in Kenya on Friday. We’ve spent our last few nights in our tents. Sleeping in my tent has been my first time on the race and I have loved it! Sometimes the roaming cows mistaken my tent as food. Haha. But now it’s time to pack up my tent because we are about to take a road trip to northern Kenya.

This month we are partnering with WYAM. Tomorrow we leave for a week to stay in an unreached community where we will be ministering. We aren’t 100% sure what exactly we will be doing. But we do know that we will be evangelizing as well as house visits and prayer walks. The community we are going to for a week is new to WYAM, so we are praying that the Lord will begin to open their hearts and minds as we bring the Gospel to them.

This is a community where the Lord has established plans to start a church. It is common around the world that where there are unreached populations, people turn to wickedness or idol fake gods. People turn to witch doctors for curing melodies. The evil spirits in this world are just as real as God. But the pathway of people that don’t believe in the Lord Jesus lead to eternal destruction. People are desperate to know that there is one Healer, one God that stands in authority of all, one God that provides hope and true promises. There’s one God that never abandons or forgets His people. There’s the one and only who is LOVE! There are so many hurting people in this world that don’t know Jesus as their Lord. I pray and hope that where ever we live in the world, that we will grow hungry every day to know the Father’s heart. I pray that we are so richly spent in His Word and presence that we reflect God’s glory. I pray that it will empower us to share the Gospel of Hope and truth to those who don’t yet know Him. There is a Love like none other and it is meant to be shared with the World. It’s Jesus and through the belief in Him, He provides us eternal glory and life forever.

And so, as for our team, pray that as we go into this new community that Holy Spirit would lead them into all truth and we go in His fullness. We need His boldness, wisdom, discernment and most of all His love. I know the Lord will provide all these things for us. He continually does. Pray that we keep our focus on Jesus so that we have space for Holy Spirit can move through us in devine ways. Pray for salvations and discipleship! God bless you!

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:8-14 NIV)

  3. Hey Katy! Wow! You are growing in your faith in so many ways and one way I can tell is how you speak when you write all of your updates on here. Your passion and heart for the Lord is shown clearly! The Lord is working in you to work through you to other people that are far from God. Continue to shine brightly and be a Light to others! Continue to be bold and seek His face so He will give you the desires of your heart! Miss you! Almost through your race before coming home! Can’t believe it’s almost August. Always praying for you and your team! God bless.
