Gap Year – Squad E has made it to Quito, Ecuador!
As far as we know, we will be here until the end of March due to only being allowed to live in the country for so many days before we need to apply for a visa.
We have been here for a week staying at our base called Inca Link. Over the last week we have been poured into with such love and hospitality from our base hosts. It has been a wonderful time getting to know them and to also help serve them by doing manual labor and weeding around the property. Every morning we’ve taken turns to share devotions and later sat in to hear testimonies and teachings from our hosts. We have been so encouraged this week and now our squad is ready to part and jump into serving at our ministry sites. This month we will be working at a camp and we’ll be doing more manual labor as our ministry all the while being the love, hands and feet of Jesus.
I wanted to write this blog as a huge appreciation for all my family, friends and others who have been continuously praying and providing my funds for me to be here. I am truly thankful for each of you that have sowed into my trip.
Some prayers for our squad is that we would keep Jesus at the center and that as we go about each day that we would experience the love of the Father deeper each day. Pray that our racers will be lead by the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and to love those beside them.
I could use prayer that I would continue to lean on God for his strength, courage, wisdom, and discernment in all different situations. Pray that I could show the love of God to my racers even while having to complete other tasks that are needing to be done as a leader.
So far, I am learning more about what it looks like to be a leader and someone that disciples believers. These past 4 months have been a wild ride of learning to depend on God for all things and that He is able to provide for me that I cannot in my own human effort. I’m learning to find grace when there’s failure, and to love anyways. I am also enjoying getting to know my racers more and more everyday as we walk this journey together. I am truly grateful for this experience as I am learning more of the importance of what discipleship really looks like.
Again, I want to thank everyone that has ever helped me get to where the Lord has been calling me. I am just so grateful! God bless you!
-I am also currently trying to meet my $5,000 deadline. I’d love to invite you to join me in my journey with the Lord while in Ecuador. Thank you so much!
