You are probably wondering how this may seem peaceful to me or what it even looks like. Let me be honest, I wasn’t sure myself until I was officially accepted into this missions. So my next few words will explain just that!

As the year 2017 was coming to a close, I remember stressing over what 2018 would look for me. I had several opportunities to choose from but wasn’t sure which path to take. Over and over I would ask God what His plans would be for me as 2018 was approaching.

One day I was with my great Aunt Marylou and she asked me what plans I had in store for the upcoming year. I explained to her my stress over the choices I was to shortly make. Her response to my comment was so full of spiritual wisdom that was passed on to her from her mother. She explains “go with the path that gives you the most PEACE.”  I thought about it and kept that in mind but wasn’t sure what that peace would feel or even look like.

January was here and I came across a live Instagram Q&A video that World Race gave viewers an opportunity to ask questions and was helpful in giving viewers an interest in their missions. I had already had an interest in this missions but I had not prayed about it in the past that this would be God’s will for me until just this year. After the video ended I started the application process and I honestly did not finish it until 4 days later. Throughout the rest of the application/ interviewing process I had focused my prayer on Contentment of the Lord’s will for my life.

Soon after I was officially accepted, I remembered the words my Aunt Marylou shared with me. That’s when I realized that my decision was at Peace. Before applying to the World Race I assumed that $18,000 would be too much for me to handle fundraising on my own as well as leaving my life behind for a year. But the peace through those thoughts came to me without worry and I just knew that this is God’s will because only He would be the one who fulfills the peace over that. The Lord is the Peace we all search for.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
